Trekking & Walking

Bhutan’s Druk Path in April, Markha valley teahouses, Sri Lanka’s Knuckles range. Grades stated honestly, acclimatisation built in, and a support team that carries more than bags.

What we do

The subcontinent’s walking is not all high altitude. The Singalila ridge from Sandakphu shows Everest and Kangchenjunga from the same breakfast, and the rhododendrons peak in the last week of April. Bhutan’s Druk Path crosses Phume La at 4,200 metres in five days. Ladakh’s Markha valley uses homestays rather than tents. Sri Lanka’s Knuckles range is humid, leech-prone and quiet. Nepal remains Nepal. We grade routes against British hill walking so you know what you have agreed to, build acclimatisation days in rather than selling them back to you, and send a cook, a horseman and a guide with wilderness first-aid training and a satellite phone.

  • Routes graded against British hill walking, with daily ascent stated.
  • Acclimatisation nights built in before any pass above four thousand metres.
  • Guides carry oxygen, a first-aid kit and a satellite phone.
  • Inner-line permits for Ladakh and Sikkim arranged with your passport copies.
