What we do
The Manali–Leh road opens around the middle of June and closes with the first serious snow. Between those dates it is 490 kilometres over five passes, the Gata Loops’ twenty-one hairpins, and the More Plains, where the road runs straight for forty kilometres at 4,700 metres. That is one option. Spiti is rougher and emptier. Bhutan’s east–west highway crosses Dochu La with its hundred and eight chortens. The Western Ghats in Coorg are green, warm and forgiving. We prepare the machines ourselves — Himalayans or Classic 500s, serviced and test-ridden before handover — and run a support vehicle with a mechanic, spare wheels, fuel and oxygen behind the group.
