Wellness & Ayurveda
Panchakarma at Kalari Kovilakom or Somatheeram, yoga above the Ganges at Rishikesh, Sri Lanka’s herbal baths. Doctor consultation first, itinerary built around the treatment schedule, not the sightseeing.
What we do
Ayurveda is a medical system with a calendar, and the calendar says monsoon. Kerala’s June-to-August rains open the pores, which is why classical panchakarma centres fill then and why a real course wants fourteen days, not four. At Kalari Kovilakom that means white cotton, no alcohol, no phone at dinner, and a physician who reads your pulse each morning. Elsewhere the register changes: Vedanta talks and Himalayan air at Ananda above Rishikesh, sowa rigpa at Vana, a hot-stone menchu bath in a Bhutanese farmhouse, herbal steam on Sri Lanka’s south coast. We take a written consultation to the doctor before arrival, then build the days around treatment times rather than the other way round.
- Medical questionnaire sent to the resident physician weeks before you arrive.
- Room chosen for distance from the treatment block and the road.
- Flights timed so travel days do not interrupt the oil schedule.
- Private yoga teacher arranged where group classes would not suit.
